The Picture Gallery
The spectacular Gallery at Somerley stretches eighty feet in length and on first sight is breathtaking. Housing a fine private art collection, including prized works by Reynolds, Canaletto, Murillo, Etty and Gainsborough, this impressive room comfortably seats up to 140 guests for a banquet or 300 guests for a drinks reception. It makes the perfect choice for product launches or client dinners.
The Drawing Room
The Drawing Room features a spectacular gilded ceiling, a 17th Century Italian fireplace and a Bechstein grand piano. With far reaching views across the lower parkland, this welcoming room lends itself perfectly to drinks receptions for up to 70 guests or easily transforms into an impressive boardroom for up to 24 delegates.
East and West Libraries
The East and West Libraries can be hired individually or as one much larger room, depending on your requirements. There are plenty of comfortable sofas nestled around log fires that lend a relaxed homely feel to your Somerley experience; both Libraries are lined with original Wyatt designed bookcases and have access to the Colonnade and formal gardens beyond. The East and West Libraries can each accommodate up 30 guests for a drinks reception or they make perfect breakout retreats for corporate away days.
The Dining Room offers a more formal space with a large bay window that offers uninterrupted views across the verdant parkland below. The highly polished Georgian mahogany table seats 18 and lends itself either to business meetings or grand but intimate dining for a private party.
Guests may enjoy a spot of wine tasting in Lord Somerton’s own private wine cellar, by prior arrangement. Guided tastings for small groups can be arranged with Somerley’s own wine expert and can add a fun distraction for our corporate visitors.
