Ellingham Show14th August 2010
If you are looking for a wonderful family day out, then the Ellingham Show in Somerley Park delivers just that. This is a truly traditional show featuring craft and horticultural marquees, activities in the main ring including sheepdog and falconry displays and the impressive sight of the Heavy Horses. The one-day show brings together the very best of the countryside in the spectacular setting of Somerley Park.
Handicrafts are on display including the traditional spinning and lace making techniques. For the children, there is always the challenge of the Scarecrow competition or the ever-popular Fancy Dress Parade for four legged companions and their owners. Add to this the Ringwood Pipe Band, children’s entertainment and over 100 trade stands where you can browse and buy home-made produce, locally made toys and much more. Then there is Millars Ark, where children get literally hands on and in the pens with farm animals, making this is a family day not to be missed.
In addition to a wide variety of livestock classes, visitors can enjoy the delights of the Horticultural Marquee brimming with local produce and flowers, as well as many novelty competitions such as ‘Have a Go’ dog agility, Fancy Dress Competitions and the Scarecrow Competition, which incorporates many original and unusual designs. The showground is open to the public from 9.00am on show day with free car parking.
Dogs are not encouraged but must be kept on leads at all times.

REGULAR EVENTS
Ground Zero Airsoft at Somerley
Ground Zero is the latest generation in airsofting war games - an already established and reportedly the fastest growing leisure activity in the UK. We combine skirmishing and military simulation into action-packed, non-stop fun gaming days using a choice of realistic weapons that fire 6mm plastic bb balls.
Areas of the woodland site include a Vietnam-style village, hill-top command post, bridge, fort, pond, prison camp, fire bunker, sniper hide and a watch tower with plenty of small weaving tunnels throughout the site, and a massive bunker system with additions being made all the time.
You could be attacking Firebase Charlie, playing crazy assault on Stag Camp or capturing and holding the fort, all in purpose built locations around the site. The friendly, professional Marshals will guide and advise, ensuring you have a fantastic experience.
Ground Zero Airsoft takes place every other Sunday on the Somerley Estate if you want to join the action with our regular players. We are also available for private corporate bookings.
